I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am with this book! The no-nonsense approach to telling it how it really is [for iguanas] in regard to temperament, housing requirements, etc. is great.

Our shelter often receives stray iguanas and in a desire to provide them with the best care we did a lot of research. Green Iguana-The Ultimate Owner's Manual is by far the best single source of information that we have seen in the field. It is a treasure trove of information.

I especially liked the part in Chapter 2, page 109, that reviews reasons for wanting a pet, to make sure they fit with an iguana's needs. This is very important in the success of the relationship between pet and owner.

This book has proven to be very helpful in educating the public. So many people have no idea what is really required to provide a long and happy life for their iguanas. I've been recommending Green Iguana-The Ultimate Owner's Manual to anyone who is thinking about getting an iguana.

We see between 15 and 20 three foot or larger iguanas each year here at the Rochester Hills, Michigan Humane Society. The number one reason is the inability to provide appropriate housing followed by poor health (usually related to metabolic bone disease). If owners or potential owners do their homework and prepare for the 10-15 year commitments, the needless suffering of many reptiles can be avoided.

This book is well organized, easy to reference and quite comprehensive. The food pyramid on page # 268 was extremely helpful. Hearing from individuals with iguanas is a great way to gain information.
